Well I tried the cheap route and got an off-brand dash board off the "Big A" and knew right away I had made a mistake. It seemed like it would work, but the barrel connector for inside the stem, it was the wrong size. It did not fit the original cord coming up from the controller. So I had to source an original replacement, which I found here very readily. It was twice the price but it was also a successful fit. Next time I will buy original the first time.
